Single-roll open-type mounting blocks are designed to change the direction of traction when the lifting mechanism and the load are not located on the same straight line, as well as to create multi-blade systems in order to reduce the pulling force required to work with the load.

Open mounting single-roll blocks are a structure consisting of a roller (pulley) with an axis mounted between two steel plates (cheeks). Unlike closed mounting blocks, the cheeks on them do not completely cover the roller. At the base of the block is a mounting point, which can serve as a hook or finger.
